General Motors is bringing the Hummer back to life as an all-electric pickup truck. It’s been nearly a decade since GM discontinued Hummer, after the company filed for bankruptcy back in 2010.
The new Hummer pickup EV is expected to be on the market in early 2022, but will be branded under the GMC truck and SUV brand.
An electric Hummer SUV is also in the works, which will be produced soon after the pickup truck if the brand relaunch proves successful, according to Bloomberg.
GM is also set to tout the return of Hummer in a Super Bowl ad next month, and has signed on basketball legend LeBron James to help.
It is understood that General Motors has no plans to bring the Hummer brand back entirely.
