Frank Keane receives ‘Outstanding Service to the Industry’ award

Frank Keane, founder of the Frank Keane Group, has received the ‘Outstanding Service to the Industry’ award, which was presented at last week’s 2025 Irish Car of the Year in association with Continental Tyres.

The award was accepted on behalf of Frank by his son, Brian Keane. The Outstanding Service to the Industry award is presented by the Motoring Media Association of Ireland (MMAI) at the annual Irish Car of the Year/Irish Van of the Year awards.

According to the MMAI, the aim of this award is to recognise the exceptional contribution of individuals working in the Irish motor industry.

Now 91-years-old, Frank Keane began his career in 1952. He was awarded the franchise for BMW in 1967, and in 2017 celebrated 50 years of success with the German marque.

In 2011, the Frank Keane Group was awarded the franchise for Volkswagen and in 2014 moved to an all-new premises at Liffey Valley motor mall. Built on the back of this success, the group then took over the VW dealership at Deansgrange in 2016, making Frank Keane Volkswagen the only authorised retailer in all of South and West Dublin.

Last year, the group opened new Volkswagen Passenger Cars and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles retail outlets in Sandyford, Co Dublin.

Past recipients of the Outstanding Service to the Industry award include Denise Harris of the Harris Group (2024); Aidan Doyle of Kia Ireland (2023); Don Hall of Hall PR / Mercedes-Benz (2022); and Anne O’Leary of Ford (2020).
