EV charging infrastructure to be made more accessible in UK

The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) is making it easier for the UK’s public sector to go green, thanks to the Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Solutions (VCIS) agreement.

The CCS has developed a dynamic route to the EV market that provides a suite of vehicle charging infrastructure solutions.

The services on offer range from consultancy and feasibility, groundworks, civil engineering and construction, hardware, software and back office solutions, and end-to-end service.

The agreement supports the aim to meet the target for central UK government departments to electrify 25 per cent of their fleets by 2022, and 100 per cent by 2030.

SMEs to large suppliers are now able to join this agreement. They can choose from ‘buyer funded’, ‘supplier funded’ or a third option for customers who have yet to decide on how they will fund the infrastructure.

The charging infrastructure is suited to public sector fleets and their workforce, home charging, and locations that cater to the general public, such as on street parking.
