Castrol launches Magnatec 0W-20 FE for PSA vehicles

Castrol has introduced a new low-viscosity engine oil for a wide range of Peugeot, Citroen, DS, and Opel models.

Castrol Magnatec 0W-20 FE is suitable for petrol and diesel engines introduced since 2018, where the manufacturer recommends PSA B71 2010 specifications. It also meets industry standards like ACEA C5/C6 and API SP.

The new lubricant simplifies workshop inventory management, and will enable workshops to service a significant number of vehicles that are powered by the 1.2 PureTech and 1.5 BlueHDi engines, including the Peugeot 208, 2008 and 308, the Citroen C3, C3 Aircross and C4, and the DS3 and DS3 Crossback.

It is also compatible for Opel vehicles featuring the 1.2 Turbo and 1.5 Diesel engine including the Corsa F, Crossland, Mokka, Astra K and Grandland.

Castrol MagnatecC 0W-20 FE is formulated for modern driving conditions, where most engine wear occurs during start-up, acceleration, deceleration, and idling.

According to Castrol, the oil’s ‘clinging like a magnet’ technology provides 50 per cent better engine wear protection, safeguarding critical components like the valvetrain, timing chain, pistons, and bearings.

Castrol Magnatec 0W-20 FE is available in various sizes to suit different workshop needs, including 60-, 208- and 1,000-litre capacities.

Castrol will be exhibiting at Auto Trade EXPO 2024, which takes place alongside the CV Workshop EXPO at the RDS in Dublin from 12th-13th October.
