BYD reveals electric van for Europe
Auto giant BYD has revealed its entry into the electric 3.5 and 4.25 tonne commercial vehicle segment.
BYD presented the E-Vali at the IAA Transportation show in Hannover, an all-electric van that is tailored to the European market.
Two variants will have a battery pack with a capacity of 80.6 kWh, with a claimed range of between 220 to 250 kilometres.
According to BYD, this is a proprietary blade battery with LFP chemistry.
For AC charging, the E-Vali has an 11 kW onboard charger, with 22 kW also available as an option.
For DC charging it offers a charging capacity of 188 kW, with BYD specifying a time of 30 minutes for charging from 10 to 80 per cent.
BYD also mentioned a payload of 700 to 1,450 kilograms and a top speed of 120km/h.
The BYD E-Vali also offers a vehicle to load (V2L) connection with 3kW for charging external devices.
No word on Irish launch dates or pricing as of yet.
