Bosch increases exhaust gas temperature sensors coverage

In addition to the existing 90 sensors it already offers, Bosch says it has released a batch of more than 40 new sensors relevant for the UK and Ireland markets.

Exhaust gas temperature sensors make an important contribution to comply with emission limits and optimum engine performance. Bosch claims its current assortment of 75 part numbers cover around 3.2 million vehicles across the UK and Ireland across a diverse range of manufacturers including Mercedes-Benz, Opel/Vauxhall, Fiat, Hyundai, Kia, Volvo, Audi, Volkswagen and more.

Bosch exhaust gas temperature sensors monitor the temperature of the particulate filter for protection. These conditions are ideal during regeneration and for optimising the exhaust gas after treatment system process.

Temperatures of critical components such as turbo chargers and catalytic converters are also strictly monitored for optimum performance and to avoid damage. The number and position of exhaust gas temperature sensors in a vehicle may vary depending on the systems used.
