Bosch ‘Fun2drive’ proves a winner in Paris

equip_auto_2013_logo_col22Fun2drive from Bosch is an application linked to an OBD dongle that allows a user to view their driving statistics in a fun way on their smartphone (speed, distance …) as well as a number of OBD parameters like engine fault codes or real values.

In case of failure or dashboard warning lights, this service allows the driver to immediately establish a dialogue with a remote technician. The application puts them in contact with their trusted mechanic or the nearest Bosch Car Service to assess the seriousness of the issue, identify whether to service the vehicle at the driver’s location or to guide the driver on the best route to the workshop.

Meanwhile, the repairer can also prepare for the incoming job, optimising working time and logistics.

Logo-Grands-Prix_scalewidthdownonly_5702FEDA and SNA Europe split the spoils for the the Silver Trophy
The jury was evenly splait when awarding the SilverTrophy in this category and it was awarded jointly to FEDA (Fédération des Syndicats de la Distribution Automobile) and SNA Europe.

FEDA’s Eco-Entretien® approach uses an innovative vehicle emission analysis process, validated with the UTAC / CERAM, to identify abnormally polluting vehicles (5 gases) and diagnose engine malfunctions along with their probable cause, allowing professionals to achieve the most appropriate corrective action (efficiency and cost) to bring the vehicle closer to its standard emissions.

This process, initiated by the FEDA, meets rule 18 of the Emergency Plan for air quality. The project has been launched with the assistance of the ADEME competition, IFSSTAR laboratories (French Institute of Science and Technology in Transport, Planning and Networks), in partnership with the equipment supplier Spheretec and consulting firm Air-be who specialise in carbon strategy and air quality.

The Eco-Entretien® diagnosis from FEDA takes only a few minutes (4 minutes) and results in a diagnostic report for the driver and the vehicle professional. Rolling out Eco-Care nationally could lead to a very significant reduction in emissions. It would also be an important source of new business and therefore new jobs in the automobile service area.

SNA Europe’s Bahco Ergo Tool Management System
SNA Europe shared the Silver Trophy award for their Bahco Ergo Tool Management System.

With a century of experience and a tool catalogue of over 1,200 pages, Bahco also produces a variety of garage furniture and storage carts including a wide range of specialised workshop assistants designed for each trade. But in order to meet the diverse needs of users, with ergonomics to meet their habits and specific working conditions, they designed the Bahco Ergo Tool Management System (BETMS).

With “BETMS”, customers can customise their storage assistants down to the last detail: design, colour, structure and composition, configurations of sliding or pivoting drawers, types of trays, handles, rollers, locking systems etc.

Customers can also choose the colours of storage foam, plus the sizes and shapes of impressions to fit objects and personal devices. Finally, to complete the customisation process, Bahco will even develop special tools and mark tools by laser.
