Federal-Mogul Motorparts, has expanded its Beru Ceramic Glow Plug range to include three important new part introductions with the references CGP002, CGP003 and CGP007 for aftermarket applications. Popular models from Volkswagen, Opel, and Renault-Nissan are now able to benefit from enhanced starting characteristics, with a shortened heat-up time and extended life time.
All Beru Ceramic Glow Plugs offer a class-leading heat-up time of less than three seconds, providing rapid temperature rise to a high maximum temperature up to 1.300°C. Efficient starting helps to reduce emissions and refine performance by improving combustion, providing a sense of enhanced refinement from modern diesel engines.
“Federal-Mogul is committed to ensuring that aftermarket customers are able to benefit from the same technologies and quality used by the major car manufacturers,” says Bert De Haes, Group Product Manager, Ignition, EMEA, Federal-Mogul Motorparts. “The three references CGP002, CGP003 and CGP007 further strengthen our European car parc coverage leadership by an additional 1.3%, and ensure that also these popular vehicles are able to benefit from our advanced ignition technology and OE-quality components.”
The highly durable Beru Ceramic Glow Plugs range uses an optimised closed-loop control for pre-heating, intermediate and post-heating, and benefits from an innovative ceramic treating rod design that provides a shorter heat-up time than alternative ceramic products. The key to the efficiency of the BERU plug is that the heating element consists entirely of electrically conductive ceramic. Because its surface has a higher specific resistance, it ensures that only the glow rod tip heats up and that optimum temperature can be achieved more quickly, offering improved durability benefits and an extended life span.
