Bank of Ireland has appointed Sean McBrien as the new Head of Motor Sector, Business Banking. Sean has been recruited directly from industry and will support Business Banking Relationship Managers across the country in their dealings with individual customers as well as providing commercial insights and monitoring industry developments.
Sean brings with him over 20 years of motor industry knowledge from his vast experience working with leading motor groups where he has held roles including Dealer Principal at Finglas Ford – Joe Duffy Motor Group and Finance Director at Clonee Motor Centre.
During this time Sean has worked with well-known brands such as Audi, Chevrolet, Ford, Kia, Mazda Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Peugeot, Porsche, Ssangyong and Volkswagen, gaining a thorough understanding of dealer management systems and building significant expertise in strategic business development, financial management, operations, sales and corporate reporting. Most recently, Sean worked as a Financial and Management Consultant within the industry.
In addition to having an in-depth knowledge, practical understanding and network of connections within the motor industry, Sean is an accomplished accountant with a strong commercial acumen.
Sean holds a BA in Accounting and Finance from Dublin Business School, a postgraduate qualification in Management Accounting (CIMA) and a Certificate in Project Management (Prince2). He previously held roles with Belgard Motor Group and Mercedes Benz (UK) Retail Group in the UK.
