The UK’s largest aftermarket event, Automechanika Birmingham (4th-6th June), opens its doors to visitors this morning.
The Aftermarket Section of the exhibition is the largest and promises a new ‘Retail Accessories Village’; a ‘Commercial Vehicle Showcase’; Aftermarket seminars/ Workshop Training Hub – Technical talks; and ‘Internationsl pavilions’.
The exhibition also features what the organisers have titled: the ‘Big UK Garage Event’. It features a ‘Bodyshop Zone/Bodyshop Training Hub’/ and ‘NEW: AutomeChanika’s Body & Paint World Championships’; a ‘Remanufacturing showcase’; a ‘Workshop Training Hub’/ ‘CPD accredited training’;
‘AutomeChanika’s Garage of the Year’ award; and a ‘Garage equipment showcase’.
Automechanika Birmingham is the UK’s leading exhibition for the automotive industry. The event was launched in 2016, attracting over 550 exhibitors and over 12,000 visitors. In 2017, the event hosted over 800 exhibitors and attracted over 12,000 trade visitors. Last year, aftermarket exhibitor numbers were down on 2017 due to clashing with Automechanika Frankfurt and the Auto Trade EXPO in Dublin.
This year, exhibitor numbers are back up and the organisers have wisely decided to go every second year from this year on, with the next Automechanika Birmingham down foe 2021. This will avoid a repeated clash with Automechanika Frankfurt in 2020. Automechanika Birmingham is organised by Messe Frankfurt UK Ltd, owned by Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH and is one of a series of 17 global events across 15 countries.
