Fuso Ireland tells us that An Post has gone green with eCanter, the World’s first all-electric light truck. Yesterday, it launch of the first Fuso eCanter into the Irish market.

Fuso Ireland is working with An Post, and they say that they have just become the very first postal service provider in the world to attain zero carbon emission delivery status within a capital city, following the addition of two Fusa eCanters to their Dublin city fleet.
Innovative research and development has always been at the core of Fuso. The 100 per cent emission free eCanter is almost silent while still containing a powerful electric motor with 115kW (156hp) with a max torque of 390Nm.
The Fuso eCanter has a claimed range of over 100km with a full payload, up to 4.3 tonne chassis load capacity. Fuso also claims that it also delivers 30 per cent lower maintenance costs and can reach a full charge in just 7 hours, with the option of fast charging in only one hour.
It adds that the eCanter delivers on comfort too. The future-oriented interior comes equipped with ergonomic seating, 12” digital displays, a keyless push start, and button shift, resulting in hassle-free and low-cost operation.
Completely silent and emission-free, the Fuso eCanter is available in various different body types including box body, dropside and tipper, making this light-duty truck very suitable for urban delivery and green business needs.

Our fully electric 7.49t FUSO eCanter has an important part to play, being the first all-electric truck in series production – and building on a proven brand heritage for alternative fuel vehicles which started with the Hybrid Canter back in 2006 in Japan.”
By acquiring two eCanters, An Post in working towards achieving their commitment to reduce carbon emissions, as it strives towards cleaner air quality in Irish cities.
