All-new Golf SV to replace Golf Plus

Volkswagen Ireland has just announced that its Golf Plus successor is to be called the Golf SV.

The production version of the new model will be launched at the Geneva Motor Show next month. It is based on the Golf sportsvan concept unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show last September

It will feature a more generous interior than the Golf Plus it replaces, and now boasts a more flexible interior (with rear bench seats that offer 180 mm longitudinal adjustment and a cargo capacity of over 1,500 litres. T

he Golf SV will feature a similar engine line-up to the standard Golf range, with the bulk of sales expected to come from the 1.6-litre 110 bhp diesel engine, which will be EU6 compliant.

Irish prices and additional specification information will be released closer to the launch.
