Roewe sales soar in China

Sales of Roewe cars, Rover’s twin brother are soaring in China, five years after the iconic brand collapsed in the UK.

Shanghai Automotive bought the rights of the Rover 25 and 45 before the MG Rover folded and had since gone on to invest almost £5 million in a British design team because it didn’t actually buy the Rover marque.

The Roewe is not for sale in Europe, but the new MG that will roll out of Longbridge is destined to form the spearhead of SAIC's push into Europe.
