World’s cheapest car unveiled

Indian car manufacturer Tata has unveiled a new car for the domestic market, with a price tag of just €1,700, making it the cheapest car in the world. Coined the ‘People’s Car’, Tata says the Nano is a comfortable, safe, all-weather car, high on fuel efficiency and low on emissions. The lack of standard features like a radio and air conditioning, power steering, emissions control, anti-lock brakes, airbags and safety beams has kept costs down.

The four-seater Nano measures 3.1 metres in length is 1.5 metres wide and and 1.6 metres high, has a rear-wheel drive, all-aluminium, two-cylinder, 623 cc, 33 PS, multi point fuel injection petrol engine.
